Happy Thanksgiving from PW4B!

Far south from the day to day locale of the PW4B office, I'm offering you our greetings and best wishes for the start of the holiday season. As I spend Thanksgiving in the bosom of the Shenandoah valley, it's easy to let everything else slip away and lose oneself in the bucolic splendor. The air is brisk and the food abounds. Virginia ham in Virginia, yes please!
As always, we must start with a trip to Peck's for some Carolina-style barbeque. Now I know it's not officially so, being in Virginia and all, but this place will put up a fight when challenged by anything I've tried in the Tar-Heel state. The restaurant is in a new location since the last time we visited and the change has done it well. I dined on a pair of particularly scrumptious chopped sandwiches with red slaw that were better than the last time I had darkened the door. The tart sauce that swam through it was a reminder of why I love this place. Let's also not forget the hush-puppies, moist on the inside with an excellently crunchy fried shell. Wash the whole thing down with an enormous sweet tea and I'm in heaven.
But soon enough this will all be a tasty memory, another square woven into the quilt. As you'll see, it's egg nog season, and things are going to get hectic. The Nog Company's 2009 batch of Premium Aged Egg Nog is ready to be unveiled. This means that it's time for the long anticipated process of tastings, blendings, and bottlings. All the patience necessary to bring this year's batch to maturity is rewarded in an all-too-quick flurry of activity that ends in The Nog Company's Premium Aged Egg Nog getting out to you, the Patiently Waiting For Bacon family.
We're always looking to extend the family, so drop us a line to join up, we'd love to hear from you. Also, once everything shifts back up north after the holiday, check back for some tales from the trip and all the latest nog season news.
