Getting closer to the bitter end

Getting closer to the bitter end.

As the baseball season is getting heated, I'm spending my time ramping up our web site. Among talk of php coding and server side scripts is the arguably more important conversations that center around the latest libations that will power us through this very exciting time.

Enter my newly purchased lineup of Fee Brother's bitters. On a recent trip to Kalustyan's, I grabbed some bottles of Fee's West Indian Orange, Grapefruit, and Lemon bitters, and it is with these newly acquired liquid victuals that my new favorite cocktail was constructed:

The Division

2 oz Hendrick's gin

1/2 oz fresh lemon juice

1/2 oz fresh lime juice

2 dashes each of Fee's Grapefruit bitters and Lemon bitters

club soda (to fill)

lime peel

Combine all ingredients except the club soda in a cocktail shaker with ice. Stir very well. Pour into chilled old fashioned glass half-full with crushed ice. Fill with club soda, rub lime peel along rim of glass, and twist then drop the peel into the glass.

Best enjoyed accompanied by an exciting game and some less exciting code-writing.

Drop me a line!
